NBCC COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
The Ontario Ministry of Health has issued a Guidance Document indicating that effective September 22, 2021, patrons seeking access to indoor areas of facilities used for sports and recreational fitness activities, including gyms, pools, sporting events and personal fitness training must show proof of identification and proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before they can enter the area, with limited exceptions. The North Bay Canoe Club falls within this guidance document, and the NBCC COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is outlined below:
As of January 1, 2022, all employees, athletes, parents and members of the North Bay Canoe Club aged 12 years and older must present their enhanced vaccine certificate prior to entering the clubhouse. The QR code on the certificate will be scanned using the Verify Ontario app to confirm full vaccination status or a valid medical exemption before entry to the clubhouse is permitted.
For organized programs, the certificate needs only be shown once per participant to the Head Coach or Office Manager who will then maintain a record that the individual meets vaccination requirements.
For ad-hoc activities outside of organized programs, individuals must be prepared to show proof of vaccination each time they come to the club.
Information for accessing one’s enhanced vaccination certificate can be found at the
