NBCC Development Fund
As you may be aware, the NBCC Sprint Racing program has grown significantly over the past three years. Since 2020, due to the support of our sponsors, we’ve invested in our first ever full time, year round head coach, 13 new sprint racing boats, 5 coach boats, 4 new motors, a full set of strength training equipment and a dock – and its all paying off!
Our Sprint team is now 30 athletes strong – and we are growing by the month. Our U16 and u14 athletes are placing in the top 10 consistently at provincial racing events and are aiming to be competitive at the national level this year…. and we couldn’t be more proud!
We’ve been able to achieve this in large part because of the government grants we receive each year. As a non profit, we rely on these grants to keep our doors open and keep our program fees affordable.
The bad news?
Two months ago, (right at the start of this year’s racing season!) we receive the news that our biggest government grant was being cut by 70% - and we’re now facing the difficult decision of how to keep our Sprint program running and not losing the incredible momentum we’ve built.
We need your help to raise $60,000!
The funds raised will be used to help us grow and sustain our Sprint team, as well as offset athlete training costs, travel costs for coaches and athletes, regatta entry fees and coach professional development costs.
