Sprint Canoe and Kayak Racing
The North Bay Canoe Club (NBCC) offers Sprint Canoe Kayak programs for athletes aged 8 and up. These programs provide instruction and training for beginners and experienced paddlers alike in the Olympic sport of canoe and kayak. Participants will compete at regional regattas (races) across eastern Ontario and will have the opportunity to compete at the provincial, national and international level as they progress.
All Sprint Canoe Kayak programs are developed and supervised by NBCC’s full time, year-round coach, Mihail Oghina. Mihail has a Masters degree in Physical Education and over 12 years of coaching experience, leading several athletes to compete in junior world championships. He and all of NBCC’s Assistant Coaches are NCCP and Standard First Aid certified. They also have Pleasure Craft Operation cards and current Criminal Records checks.
