Sprint Canoe and Kayak Racing

The North Bay Canoe Club (NBCC) offers several Sprint Canoe and Kayak racing programs for athletes aged 8 and up.

The U10/U12/U14 programs provide instruction and training for beginners and developing paddlers in the Olympic sport of flatwater canoe-kayak.  Participants will have the opportunity to compete at regional regattas (races) across eastern Ontario and could qualify for Provincial Championships each summer. Regattas are held in the summer on weekends, generally in the Ottawa area, with one regatta in North Bay each year.

The U16+ programs provide ongoing training and technique development for athletes wishing to compete at regional regattas, with the opportunity to qualify for Provincial, national and international championships as they progress.

For athletes 14 and older who can no longer commit to daily practices but still want to continue in the sport, we have introduce an Youth Team Boat program that practices two evenings per week.

More details about all these racing programs can be found below.
